What we collect

Obsolete doesn't require an account to use. When you first open the app, we create an anonymous identifier for your device, and the tools and prices you tell us you use, the use cases you pick, and the wishes you save are tied only to that anonymous identifier.

If you choose to sign in with Apple, Google, or email — entirely optional, and only to keep your data across reinstalls and devices — we also collect the email address (and name, if provided) your account gives us.

We also collect basic app usage analytics (screens viewed, features used) to understand what's working.

How we use it

Your stack and goals are used to compute your Obsolescence Score, generate recommendations, and personalize your weekly Signal digest. We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with advertisers.

Third parties

We use Firebase (Google) for our backend, authentication, and analytics; RevenueCat to manage subscriptions; and Apple's App Store or Google Play to process payments. Each has its own privacy practices governing the data that passes through them.

Your choices

You can permanently delete your account and everything tied to it — your stack, wishes, and briefing history — at any time, right in the app: Settings → Delete account. If you'd rather we do it for you, contact us instead.

Children

Obsolete is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

We'll update this page if anything material changes about how we handle your data.
